The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were a team with unknown expectations coming into the year.

With the retirement of Tom Brady, no one knew who would play quarterback in Tampa Bay.

Many people thought it would be Kyle Trask until the Bucs went out and signed veteran free agent Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield won the job out of training camp and has not given it up since.

Bucs offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs joined The Pat McAfee Show to talk about Mayfield.

He spoke glowingly about Mayfield and the “passion” he brings to the locker room.

“Baker Mayfield has been awesome, and the passion he brings every day is incredible,” Wirfs said.

Mayfield was the first overall pick in the 2018 draft.

While he has never lived up to that hype, he has turned himself into a capable starter.

However, the Bucs are still struggling to win games.

Tampa Bay has a record of 4-5 and is clinging to playoff hope.

The Bucs have been beneficiaries of playing in one of the weaker divisions in football.

It would not be a surprise to see the division winner with a record below .500.

Currently, the Saints are in first place with a 5-5 record and this seems like a division battle that will come down to the final week.
