A potential superstar quarterback is emerging in the NFL, with rookie C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans starting to make headlines on a weekly basis for all the right reasons.
After putting up historic numbers last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Stroud followed that up with a come-from-behind win against superstar Joe Burrow and the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals.
Even though the Texans were expected to give the Bengals a run for their money in Week 10, few thought they’d be able to beat them, let alone pull off a comeback to get the victory against Cincinnati.
After leading the team to its fifth win of the season and officially taking Houston a game above .500, Stroud spoke to the media and had nothing but high praise for Burrow via NFL on CBS.
“That was a great Bengals team….I’m a huge fan of Joe Burrow. It was an honor to play against him,” Stroud said.

Battles between Burrow and Stroud could be something we see a lot of in the future, as it doesn’t appear that this kid out of Ohio State is going anywhere, as he may be the next star quarterback in this league and the new face of the Texans franchise moving forward.
Outdueling Burrow is a great start to the second half of the season in which he’s already starting to get some MVP buzz, even if it may be a bit premature or a stretch, considering he may be competing with the best quarterbacks in the league for that regular-season award.
Stroud and company will try to keep it going next week when they host Kyler Murray and the lowly Arizona Cardinals at NRG Stadium.
