Ever since the Las Vegas Raiders decided to fire Josh McDaniels as their head coach and Dave Ziegler as their general manager earlier this month, the team hasn’t lost a game.
Granted, the Raiders have only played two matchups since the departures of McDaniels and Ziegler, but things seem to be much more enjoyable for the franchise with Antonio Pierce as the team’s interim head coach and Champ Kelly as the team’s interim general manager.
One Las Vegas player who has appeared to benefit a lot both on and off the field following the coaching and general manager change is All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.
Adams’ mood since the changes were made seems to be more upbeat, and in the Raiders’ win over the New York Jets on Sunday, the 86 receiving yards he finished with were the most he’s had in a game since Week 3.
After the win over the Jets, Pierce made it very clear that Adams will continue to get a significant amount of opportunities for the remainder of the 2023 season (via Dov Kleiman on Twitter).
Update: #Raiders star WR Davante Adams finished the #Jets game with 6 catches for 86 yards, his most since Week 3 of the season.
Interim coach Antonio Pierce said the offense plans to give him the ball more and more going forward:

After accumulating more than 1,500 receiving yards in 2022, Adams has averaged almost 25 fewer yards per game this season, and it was definitely having an impact on the team’s success.
Las Vegas gave up a lot to acquire the All-Pro wide receiver in a trade with the Green Bay Packers last year, so it seemed odd that he wasn’t much of a focal point of the offense during the first half of the current season when McDaniels was running the show.
But now, with Pierce in charge, we should expect Adams to return to his normal playmaking form.
