Will this be the year that the Indiana Pacers finally become playoff contenders again?
That is what some fans are thinking after the team got off to a strong start and claimed a 6-3 record.
StatMuse crunched the numbers and found that the Pacers lead the NBA in offensive rating, points per game, and assists per game too.
Additionally, as of Friday morning, they are top-five, not just this year but in NBA history, for offensive rating, points, and assists per game.
What is next for this promising, young team?

A large part of their success has to do with Tyrese Haliburton, the team’s leader and superstar.
Haliburton has been a shining star for the Pacers since joining them in 2021-22.
But he has reached a whole new level this season and is currently averaging 23.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 11.6 assists per game.
Those assists are a league-high, by the way, and a major reason why Indiana leads the entire NBA in assists per game.
Bennedict Mathurin is also finding his footing and becoming a stellar part of the team.
He got off to a rocky start during his first three games of 2023-24, but Mathurin has been on point in the last two and notched 26 points and 11 rebounds against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night.
Myles Turner, who has been attached to a slew of trade rumors over the years, has been beneficial to the Pacers so far too.
This is the best start to a season that the Pacers have had in years and fans are hopeful they can keep it up all the way to the postseason.
