Bryce Young has taken a lot of criticism throughout his rookie season for the Carolina Panthers.

He just put up a dud against the Chicago Bears in primetime, leaving many fans to be hyper-critical of him and his recent performance.

Skip Bayless came to his aid after this loss, reminding fans of another quarterback who struggled early in his career.

As Bayless highlighted in a tweet, Jalen Hurts received a lot of hate during his first two seasons.

Hurts was seen as an unpolished quarterback during his first two years in the league.

There was a lot of debate whether he’d be able to make it as a passer, or if he was just an athletic rusher that was a one-trick pony.

After leading the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl last season, those concerns have been quelled.

Bayless wanted to remind fans of Hurts’ early struggles in the hopes of helping Young’s standing in the public eye.

One thing Hurts has been given at his disposal is an increase in receiving help and offensive skill-position players.

He now has A.J. Brown, D’Andre Swift, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert to throw the ball to among others.

Young’s primary target is 33-year-old Adam Thielen.

While Thielen has proven to still have some gas left in the tank, Young needs more help if he wants to succeed.

For him to play better moving forward, the Panthers must make additional investments in the offense to give Young a chance.

Can he take a leap forward in production in the back half of the season?
