For a little while this season, it looked like the New York Jets were going to be competitive and perhaps even have a shot at making the playoffs, even without future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
They took a decent 4-4 record into their Monday night matchup versus the Los Angeles Chargers at MetLife Stadium, only to get embarrassed, 27-6.
Once again, Zach Wilson didn’t play a great game, as he was sacked eight times and didn’t throw a single touchdown pass, and he told Jets fans that he’s doing everything he can to be the best version of himself, via Jets Videos on Twitter.
“As frustrated as [Jets fans] are, we’re even more frustrated…I want them to know that I’m doing everything I absolutely can to be the best QB I can be.”

Unfortunately for Jets fans, even the best version of Wilson may not be enough for their team to make it to the postseason.
On the season, he has thrown five touchdown passes and five interceptions, and he has completed only 59.9 percent of his pass attempts.
Therefore, it is no surprise that New York ranks near the bottom of the NFL in several offensive categories.
To make matters worse, their running back room, which was supposed to be arguably the best in the league, hasn’t gotten the job done thus far.
While Breece Hall has 493 rushing yards in eight games, Dalvin Cook, who made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons, is at just 121 yards on 2.8 yards per rush attempt.
As good as the Jets defense has been at times, they badly need more offensive firepower if they’re going to have any shot at making the playoffs in a loaded AFC.
