The Minnesota Timberwolves have desperately needed a leader for years.
Karl-Anthony Towns is a very good player who can put up big numbers, but he wasn’t the kind of strong leader they craved.
That’s why landing Anthony Edwards has helped the Timberwolves take a big leap forward.
He’s shown glimpses of greatness since he entered the league, but he’s now establishing himself as one of the undisputed best players in the game.
As pointed out by NBACentral, Edwards has dominated with 29.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists per game, and 1.8 steals per game on 56% shooting to lead his team to a 4-0 record in their past four games.

Edwards was expected to take a major leap forward this season, especially after the summer he spent with Team USA.
He dominated in the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and he was the only player who rose to the occasion and dominated every single game.
The Timberwolves are doing the right thing by putting the ball in his hands early and often, and they should continue to build their franchise around him.
Edwards will continue to get better and better, and he’s making a big effort to improve as a defender, which has always been the biggest knock on his game.
He’s become one of the best players in the league, and if the Timberwolves keep this up, they’re going to fare much better in the postseason than they did last year when they stumbled their way to a first-round loss against the Denver Nuggets.
