Production Occupations drive robotics-related hiring activity

Production Occupations, with a share of 14%, emerged as the top robotics-related job roles within the consumer industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings rising by 2% quarter-on-quarter. Architecture and Engineering Occupations came in second with a share of 11% in Q3 2023, with new job postings rising by 5% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent robotics roles include Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with a 10% share in Q3 2023, Management Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in consumer industry accounted for 31% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were Procter & Gamble, Campbell Soup, B&G Foods, Chr. Hansen Holding, and Nestle. Together they accounted for a combined share of 31% of all robotics-related new jobs in the consumer industry.

Procter & Gamble posted 115 robotics-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Campbell Soup 40 jobs, B&G Foods 32 jobs, Chr. Hansen Holding 30 jobs, and Nestle 27 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 62.24% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023

The largest share of robotics-related new job postings in the consumer industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 62.24% followed by the UK (4.46%) and France (3.83%). The share represented by the US was 25 percentage points higher than the 37.34% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
