Management Occupations drive plant-based diets-related hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 15%, emerged as the top plant-based diets-related job roles within the consumer industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 5% quarter-on-quarter. Production Occupations came in second with a share of 9% in Q3 2023, with new job postings rising by 33% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent plant-based diets roles include Sales and Related Occupations with a 9% share in Q3 2023, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 9% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in consumer industry accounted for 80% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were Kellogg, Bonduelle, Body Shop International, AAK, and Beyond Meat. Together they accounted for a combined share of 80% of all plant-based diets-related new jobs in the consumer industry.

Kellogg posted 353 plant-based diets-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Bonduelle 144 jobs, Body Shop International 121 jobs, AAK 76 jobs, and Beyond Meat 43 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 63.51% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023

The largest share of plant-based diets-related new job postings in the consumer industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 63.51% followed by Canada (8.50%) and the UK (7.08%). The share represented by the US was three percentage points lower than the 66.20% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
