On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles reinforced the notion that they’re arguably the best team in the NFC by outlasting the Dallas Cowboys, 28-23.
Dallas had a chance to win in the final seconds, but quarterback Dak Prescott was sacked in Philly territory with 23 seconds left, and then two plays later, they were hit with a delay of game penalty, sending them back to the Eagles’ 27-yard line.
On the final play, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb caught the ball near the end zone, but he was stopped and forced into a fumble as time expired.
Meanwhile, QB Jalen Hurts had a strong performance for the Eagles, completing 17 of 23 pass attempts for 207 yards and two touchdown passes while adding another touchdown on the ground.
On FS1’s “Speak,” Eagles wideout A.J. Brown said Hurts’ mentality and leadership have made him the excellent player he is.

Last season, Hurts was one of the leading MVP candidates, but he lost the award to Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hurts also lost to Mahomes in another way, as his team fell to Kansas City in the Super Bowl despite building a 10-point lead by halftime.
Through nine games this year, Hurts has thrown for 2,347 yards and 15 touchdowns while completing 68.9 percent of his pass attempts.
The Eagles are now 8-1, which is the best record in the NFL, even though some may feel they haven’t played their best football yet.
In two weeks, after their bye, they will get a chance to make an even bigger statement when they visit the Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
