Secretary of State Antony Blinken again pushed for a “humanitarian pause” in Gaza, the latest development in an unusually public split from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who earlier appeared to reject the U.S. call for such pauses unless Hamas frees all of its hostages. Dozens of people were killed and wounded in a strike on the Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian authorities said Saturday. The Washington Post could not independently verify the reports, and the exact number of deaths is unknown. Meanwhile, civilian passage out of Gaza through the Rafah border crossing was stopped Saturday. A border official and a diplomat told The Post that “no foreign passport holders” would pass into Egypt — a move that appeared connected to Palestinian demands for more injured Gazans to be allowed into Egypt to receive medical care there.
