The Los Angeles Clippers have officially stacked their roster with superstars, with Steve Ballmer and company going all out to bring in former NBA MVP James Harden to join forces with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook.

With the Clippers pulling off this blockbuster trade late Monday night, the league has felt the shockwave of another move that has tilted the scales, but this time, it was in the Western Conference.

The West is arguably the better conference this season, with plenty of teams that may turn out to be contenders, like the Los Angeles Lakers, as Rob Pelinka and his front office were able to make some impressive moves over the summer.

On Tuesday, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins was asked about this blockbuster move by the Clippers to acquire Harden and whether he believes the Lakers are still the better of the two teams, via NBA on ESPN.

Perkins believes the Clippers are now the better team in Los Angeles and that the Lakers have been the second-best team in the city for quite some time.

As Perkins points out, the Clippers have won 13 of the last 15 matchups between these two crosscourt rivals, which is pretty telling regarding which team has the edge over the other since Leonard and George came to Los Angeles.

Ironically enough, these two Western Conference heavyweights will go head-to-head on Wednesday, which will now likely be the game of the week in the NBA, especially if Harden suits up for his new team.

It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in this game and how people feel about these two teams when the dust settles.
