When Kirk Cousins tore his ACL in Week 8, fans immediately speculated who the Minnesota Vikings‘ next quarterback would be.
Jaren Hall came in to relieve Cousins during the game, doing enough to help the Vikings come away with the win.
While some imagined that he would hold down the fort for the rest of the year, the team had other plans.
They traded for Josh Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals, who will likely take over as their starter soon.
After receiving the news, Dobbs posted a tweet highlighting his time with the Cardinals, while also seemingly excited about his new role.
“Going to be an incredible story to tell,” Dobbs tweeted.

The Vikings are Dobbs’ fourth team in the last year.
He has been a member of the Cleveland Browns, Tennesee Titans, and Cardinals, and will now get another opportunity with the Vikings.
Dobbs started eight games for the Cardinals this season while Kyler Murray returns from injury.
In those eight games, Dobbs has thrown for 1,569 yards, eight touchdowns, and five interceptions.
He also ran for 258 yards and three touchdowns, demonstrating that he can get it done on the ground as well.
The addition of Dobbs in Minnesota could be a good thing for a team that still has playoff aspirations despite their slow start.
His ability and propensity to throw the deep ball is positive for the likes of Jordan Addison and K.J. Osborn, the Vikings’ two deep threats.
When Justin Jefferson returns, Dobbs will have an opportunity to throw to a true alpha WR1, a connection that should yield positive results.
