The NFL trade deadline has come and gone and some eyes were on the Green Bay Packers, who were expected to be sellers.
At 2-5, the Packers are more than likely to miss the postseason and with several veterans who can help contenders it made sense for them to explore the market and see what kind of draft compensation they could get back.
Jordan Love has tapered off after a strong start to the 2023 NFL season, but there aren’t many pieces on the offensive side of the football that would garner much interest.
However, the defensive side is another story as several impact players could easily bolster a team’s playoff hopes.
After going through most of the day without making a trade, Green Bay finally made a move as they dealt away cornerback Rasul Douglas to the Buffalo Bills.
Douglas wasn’t discussed much in rumors, but his move did prompt reactions from fans.

Douglas lands in a great spot with the Bills who have clear needs in their secondary after suffering some injuries throughout the regular season.
The veteran defensive back is a stabilizing presence on the outside and can be used effectively as either a man-to-man corner or in zone.
Buffalo’s defense has taken a bit of a step back as they try to overcome the loss of multiple starters, but Douglas should definitely help them in the short-term.
As for Green Bay, it looks like they’re finally ready to embrace their rebuild going forward.
