Before ultimately returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2023-24 NBA season, veteran center Tristan Thompson looked like he’d be without a job in the league and potentially be done altogether if unable to sign with a new team after a short stint with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Fortunately for Thompson, he was able to go back to a familiar spot by playing for the team that drafted him No. 4 overall in 2011, and he’s been able to log some minutes early in the season due to some injury issues for the Cavaliers in the frontcourt.

On Halloween, the Cavaliers will get back to work and will hope to record their second win of the season against the New York Knicks, and Thompson isn’t happy about getting his rebounding compared to that of guard Josh Hart.

Thompson didn’t hold back when this comparison was made, as he clearly took it as an insult, per Stefan Bondy of the New York Post via NBACentral.

Even though Hart is only 6-foot-4, he’s one of the best rebounding guards in the league and always seems to be in the right place at the right time to make an impact in that category on a nightly basis.

Coming into this game against the Cavaliers, Hart is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game, which is pretty good for a guard at his size and a valuable asset for Tom Thibodeau and company.

Thompson may be no slouch on the glass, but he’s not getting the kind of minutes to compare to a role player in a team’s rotation like Hart.
