One of the great things about sports is that athletes will compete hard against each other and sometimes even be nasty, but they can still be friends off the field.

On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers took the field at Levi’s Stadium against the Cincinnati Bengals, looking to get back on track after back-to-back losses.

They ended up losing their third straight game, 31-17, as Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow had a sensational game, completing 28 of 32 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns.

But afterward, 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa shared some love with Burrow, via the NFL on Twitter.

Burrow has been dealing with a strained calf ever since training camp, but it looks like he has been regaining his mojo lately.

In his last three games, he has thrown eight touchdown passes and just two interceptions, and he is starting to look like the Burrow of old.

Meanwhile, Bosa hasn’t quite looked like his dominant self so far this season.

He has just 3.0 sacks so far this season, which pales in comparison to the 18.5 sacks he had last year that led the NFL.

While San Francisco’s defense hasn’t been terrible overall, it also hasn’t been quite as impenetrable as it was last season when they finished the regular season with a 10-game winning streak.

They have a new defensive coordinator in Steve Wilks who has replaced DeMeco Ryans, who is now the Houston Texans’ head coach, and some have been blaming Wilks for the Niners’ struggles of late.

The Niners have their bye week coming up, and after that, they will visit the 6-2 Jacksonville Jaguars.
