The Atlanta Hawks have been stuck in mediocrity ever since making the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021.
Trae Young was the star of the Hawks’ 2021 playoff run.
Since then, Young has shown signs of brilliance but hasn’t really reached the same level again.
Many expected Young to have a great start to the 2023-24 season, but in reality, the Hawks guard has struggled to get going in the first two games of the season.
Young’s abysmal stat line was posted on Twitter via Legion Hoops, which highlighted his rough start to the season.

As highlighted, Young shot 8-35 from the field, 3-14 from downtown, and already has 11 turnovers.
It’s no surprise that the Hawks are currently 0-2 to begin the season.
After all, Young is the heart and soul of the franchise, and if he continues to struggle, the Hawks are undoubtedly headed to another disappointing season.
Young averaged 26.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game last season, shooting at 42.9% from the field and 33.5% from beyond the three-point line.
While it’s still a low shooting percentage for the superstar, it was much better than how Young has started this season.
Despite the poor shooting performances, Young has still managed to keep dishing out quality assists for his teammates.
He has 21 assists over two games, which is a great number for any point guard in the NBA.
But the Hawks need more from Young, especially in the scoring department.
