A police incident in the parking lot at Legacy High School in Southern California created havoc for those who had attended the game on Thursday night.

According to reports, police fired shots at a vehicle after it attempted to strike them in the parking lot.

Per NBC Los Angeles:

No one was struck by the gunfire, but the SUV driver hit another car and managed to run away. Two people were in the other car, one of whom had to be taken to a hospital, police said.

One player, Jordan Angel, told NBC Los Angeles that people were running through the hallways, getting down and crying. Some other students, like him, were worried as they wondered whether their parents had been outside waiting to pick them up when the shots rang out.

“Everyone got down, staying away from the windows,” Angel said. “Everyone was crying, scared, panicking.”

While responding to a fight after the football game at Legacy High, LA Schools police opened fire on a vehicle that attempted to strike them in the school parking lot.

However, an officer’s foot was injured in the incident, A second officer was also hurt, police said, according to KTLA.

Both officers suffered minor injuries, while the suspect sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
