The San Francisco 49ers fell flat for the second week in a row.
Following their shocking loss to the Cleveland Browns, they failed to get back on track with another road loss, this time to the Minnesota Vikings.
Niners QB Brock Purdy turned the ball over twice in the second half, including a game-sealing interception when trailing by five points.
The Iowa State product completed 21 of 30 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown, with an 81.5 rating.
That’s why Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe reaffirmed his thoughts on him.
When asked whether he was disappointed in Purdy, Sharpe said that he wasn’t because he always knew the kind of quarterback he was, via “First Take.”
“I knew what [Brock Purdy] was to begin with. … When the defense can’t be perfect … and they ask Brock Purdy to deliver us, he didn’t. … If Brock Purdy is elite, we need another definition for Patrick Mahomes.”

Sharpe jokingly said that no one was in his Twitter mentions after last night’s game, as opposed to what happened when he called Purdy a system quarterback a couple of weeks ago.
The Hall of Famer stated that Purdy is good at executing the system, but he cannot be asked to lead the team when everything isn’t going perfectly.
If Christian McCaffrey cannot run the ball, the defense isn’t getting stops or turnovers, or Deebo Samuel isn’t out there, then Purdy won’t be at his best, says Sharpe.
This is the second consecutive week in which injuries stood in the way of the Niners, and most of the blame has fallen on Brock Purdy’s shoulders.
Now, he’ll look to bounce back and continue to play for his money when the Niners host the Cincinnati Bengals in a another must-watch matchup.
