Florida State wins, Miami loses in the Armondo Blount sweepstakes

Florida State had a big recruiting win this weekend, flipping Armondo Blount from Miami. It is a significant loss for Miami to lose a player from their own backyard.

For the Seminoles, the addition of Blout, a five-star defensive lineman, sees Florida State move up two spots in the On3 Industry Rankings. According to On3, Florida State now has the fourth-best recruiting class in the nation.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive lineman is the No. 20 player in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the third highest-ranked commit in the Florida State class behind K.J. Bolden and Luke Kromenhoek.

Blount, a class of 2024 recruit from Miami Central High School (Miami, Florida), has 32 total tackles on the season and eight sacks. He also has 10 tackles for a loss.

Florida State is currently 7-0 following a win two weeks ago over Duke. The Seminoles were on a bye this past weekend.

They are currently fourth in the nation in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.
