The Detroit Lions entered Week 7 with high hopes and expectations.

Despite being three-point road underdogs, some thought they had a legitimate chance to upset the Baltimore Ravens.

If anything, this was expected to be a close game at the very least, and even a potential Super Bowl preview.

Needless to say, that wasn’t anything close to reality.

The Ravens dominated from start to finish, up to the point where they were up 35-0 in the second half.

That’s why former NFL player Willie Colon stated that the Lions proved him right, as he had called them a fluky contender because they hadn’t played anybody (via The Carton Show).

Colon had stated that their win in the opening game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs wasn’t that impressive because they didn’t have Travis Kelce and Chris Jones, and predicted they’d be in for a tough awakening when they faced an actual contender.

Truth be told, it’s hard to believe that the Lions are actually this bad.

It was the perfect storm for the home team, with Lamar Jackson having all day to move around in the pocket and hit his receivers in stride, and Jared Goff looking like the Jared Goff of old.

No team is as good as it’s best game or as bad as it’s worst game, and perhaps the truth is somewhere in between.

But the Lions have failed to prove their worth in the two games they were supposed to win — or at least compete — this season, and that’s a worrisome trend, especially considering the franchise’s history.
