Although the New York Jets struggled to overcome the loss of Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles, the team has been able to claw their back into the AFC playoff race.

The Jets have strung together a modest two-game win streak before their Week 7 bye, generating some optimism that perhaps they can compete for a Wild Card spot.

Zach Wilson has been serviceable since taking over the reins of the offense, though the real change has been Breece Hall who finally got a full workload last week.

Hall started the 2023 NFL season on a snap count after spending the offseason recovering from a torn ACL, but the running back has looked like his former self as the weeks have gone by.

The second-year player has home run playmaking ability and is usually good for one explosive run a game.

Hall’s reemergence as the alpha in the New York backfield has seemingly made Dalvin Cook expendable and he is reportedly on the trade block via Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

Cook signed with the Jets late in the offseason after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings and initially shared a 50-50 time split with Hall.

However, Cook’s snaps and opportunities have dwindled each week which isn’t a surprise considering how Hall has looked on the field.

With the trade deadline less than two weeks, there are going to be some interested teams looking to add depth to their running back room for the second half of the season.

Cook’s still got some gas left in the tank, so it’ll be interesting to see if he does end up getting moved.
