Even though he hasn’t played a regular season NBA game yet, Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs has already created some viral moments.
One of them came just days ago when the Spurs rookie performed a “nutmeg” on Houston Rockets guard Reggie Bullock.
During a preseason game, Wembanyama was able to dribble the ball between Bullock’s legs, leaving the crowd stunned.
Speaking with Malika Andrews on ESPN, Wembanyama said that was all part of the plan.
He admitted that he had been visualizing the move for weeks and wanted to try because it will catch any defender off-guard.
It certainly did that, as it took Bullock and the rest of the team a second to realize what had happened.
This is just one of the many moves that Wembanyama has in his back pocket and it’s yet another reason why he’s such an exciting and one-of-a-kind young player.
Taller than just about anyone else in the league, Wembanyama still has great control of the ball and his lanky, large body.
He is able to do things that other men his size generally cannot.
On Friday night, he had another strong game, scoring 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 blocks on 8-of-19 shooting from the field through three quarters.
He has repeatedly proven himself as a real threat during the preseason and now Spurs fans are eagerly awaiting Wednesday night.
It is then that Wembanyama will get his first official taste of the NBA, playing an opening night game against the Dallas Mavericks in their opener.
What sort of tricks will Wembanyama have up his sleeve on Wednesday?
