The Dallas Cowboys‘ 42-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday was the worst and most humiliating loss they have had to deal with in recent memory.
Not only did they look feeble, but they suffered the loss to their historic arch-rivals and the team they may have to get past in order to reach the Super Bowl.
Quarterback Dak Prescott threw three interceptions and had what many pundits have called the worst game of his career.
Yet he gave the 49ers lots of credit in preparing for them, per Ed Werder.
Dak Prescott on SF loss: “They had a hell of a plan. They challenged us. We didn’t respond the right way. And that’s why it got ugly…That was a hell of a team we played, and we’re going to give them credit. But not going to allow that to shake our confidence in who we are.” pic.twitter.com/CGnHPES28Y

This was the latest in a series of poor or underwhelming performances by Prescott in games that matter a lot to him and his team.
He threw two interceptions against the Niners in a loss to them in last season’s Divisional round of the playoffs, and the year before that, he went 23 of 43 and got sacked five times in a Wild Card round loss to them.
Cowboys fans have been growing very impatient with the team’s inability to put it all together in the postseason and realize their potential, and they’re still waiting for the franchise’s first world championship since the 1995 season.
The feeling right now is that while this year’s Cowboys are a very good team, they still don’t have the goods to get over the hump.
The Niners are considered by many to be the best team in football right now, and if they’re not, it may be the Philadelphia Eagles, the defending NFC champs who, along with the Niners, are the league’s only undefeated team.
