The Dallas Cowboys entered the season as one of the teams to beat out of the NFC East, but as usual, those expectations didn’t last long.
Following a head-scratching loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Cowboys failed to live up to the task against the San Francisco 49ers, getting exposed by the same team for the third time in a row.
Now sitting on a 3-2 record, former NFL star Willie Colon believes Monday night’s showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers is a must-win for them (via The Carton Show).
“This is a must-win. This is a statement game for Mike McCarthy. This is their whole season on the line.”

Colon explained that McCarthy and the Cowboys fired Kellen Moore, so they cannot afford to lose against him, especially considering the way Dak Prescott has struggled and how their offense hasn’t been able to score points lately.
He also added that with his defense getting stung by the injury bug, they’re going to have to score a bunch of points to be able to keep up with the Chargers’ explosive offense, and that could be an issue.
The Cowboys have their bye week after the game, and their schedule doesn’t get any easier in the second half of the season.
Micah Parsons needs to step up after couple of subpar games, and Prescott was once again to blame for most of their offensive miscues in their loss.
As early in the season as this game is, it’s definitely a must-win for Mike McCarthy and company.
