The Golden State Warriors had a very long, very grueling, and very difficult 2022-23.
They entered the year as defending champions but eventually got eliminated in the second round of the playoffs.
Looking back at it now, Klay Thompson told Anthony Slater that he was extremely “tired” during the series versus the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I learned that I was fried. I was tired. All my shots in Game 6 were short,” Thompson said to Slater and The Athletic.
“As I get older, I’ll have to rely on my teammates and my smarts to be as efficient scoring as I possibly can be,” Thompson admitted.

The Warriors had to fight through seven games in the opening round against the Sacramento Kings.
And that came after months of them struggling on the road and not performing at the level they usually do.
No wonder Thompson was so tired.
As the series against the Lakers continued, fans were eager to see what they call “Game 6 Klay.”
Throughout his career, Thompson has had some stellar Game 6 performances.
But in Game 6 against LA, Thompson only produced 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists and went 2-of-12 from the three-point line.
Fans were shocked to see that output from Thompson and now the five-time All-Star is admitting he was wiped out.
Thompson is smart and a bit brave to reveal that in the years ahead he will have to rely on his teammates and intelligence more.
His body is getting older and, therefore, he can experience fatigue more.
Thompson will have to alter his game as the seasons go on.
But that could make him a better player and help the Warriors find even more success.
