The Philadelphia Phillies had a chance to go up 2-0 in the NLDS.
Starting pitcher Zack Wheeler put them in position to do so.
He had a great performance through five innings which helped the Phillies to a 4-0 lead.
Unfortunately, that ended up not being enough as the Phillies lost the game, 5-4.
Despite the result, Wheeler should be applauded for his performance.
His start was so dominant he ended up in the Phillies’ history books.
According to Sarah Langs, Wheeler became the third Phillies pitcher with a postseason no-hitter through at least five innings.
As Todd Zolecki noted, Wheeler ended up throwing 5.2 no-hit innings.

Wheeler gave the Phillies exactly what they hoped for.
It is a shame his outing did not result in a Phillies win.
The series heads to Philadelphia tied at one game apiece.
That is something the Phillies have to be excited about.
Last season, the Phillies had this same scenario.
Facing the Braves in the NLDS, they won Games 3 and 4 to clinch the series.
There is no reason to believe the Phillies cannot do that again.
In Game 3, the Phillies turn to Aaron Nola for the start.
He has been the Phillies’ number-two starter all year and has been a workhorse.
Even though his ERA was higher than normal during the regular season, he is still someone the Phillies trust.
Atlanta has one of the top offenses in MLB history.
Trying to slow them down for a full series is not easy.
But, that is what Nola will have to do to help the Phillies take the series advantage.
