The New England Patriots are not in a good place right now after the team was crushed by the New Orleans Saints in Week 5.
As if losing to the Dallas Cowboys last week 38-3 wasn’t bad enough, the Patriots went lower this week by failing to show up against a team that many believe is mediocre this season.
New England failed to even score a field goal on Sunday against the Saints at home at Gillette Stadium, with New Orleans coming away with a 34-point shutout over Bill Belichick and company.
It was easily the worst loss of the day in the NFL and a bad sign of things to come for the Patriots, with the players clearly unhappy about the direction of the team moving forward.
Veteran tight end Hunter Henry spoke to the media after the game and was asked what the mood in the locker room is like right now, and his response was as expected after a 34-point loss via NBC Sports Boston’s Patriots Coverage.
“Not Great. I’ll just leave it at that” Henry said.

Henry, who didn’t record a catch in Week 5 after being targeted twice, clearly looked frustrated and probably would’ve liked to have said more than he did, but went the professional route by simply saying the mood in the locker room is not good right now.
The real question from here on out is what the Patriots do moving forward, as the outlook for the rest of the season looks bleak, to say the least.
Although a lot needs to change on the field, the main storyline will be Belichick’s job status, as one has to think that longtime team owner Robert Kraft may have seen enough at this point.
