If you’re the sort of person who doesn’t have the time or tech-savvy to build your own computer, then buying a prebuilt is a perfectly fine option. Yes, some people might give you a bit of grief, but ignore them; as long as you can get a gaming PC that you’re happy with, that’s the important thing. While it is true you spend a lot more buying prebuilt than buying the parts and assembling it yourself, we’ve found some pretty excellent deals across the board that will make up for any difference.

Best gaming PC deals
If you’re looking for a great starter-to-mid-range gaming PC, the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i is a great choice. While the RTX 3060 isn’t very powerful, it’s still great for 1080p and can manage respectable 1440p performance. You also get the mid-range i5-13400F, which is more than enough for most productivity work, and the 16GB of RAM is DDR5, the latest and fastest on the market. The only small downside is the 512GB of storage, which isn’t much considering how big games are these days, but you could always upgrade the size somewhere down the line.
The 12th-gen Core i7 CPU is a generation old, but with its enormous $400 discount, this is one of the most affordable gaming PCs with a current RTX 40-series GPU. It features RTX 4060 Ti graphics, which is great for 1080p gaming, along with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 1TB solid-state drive and a 600-watt power supply.
If you’re planning on playing at 1440p, then the RTX 3070 that comes with this Asus ROG desktop is a good choice. While you might still struggle to play the latest AAA games at the highest settings and 144Hz refresh rate, it will still manage to play most games at relatively excellent resolution and settings. You also get the mid-to-high-end i7-13700KF processor, which can handle most simulation and strategy games, as well as any productivity work you throw at it — and it might manage some editing too. It comes with an impressive 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 1TB of storage.
You can save $200 at Newegg on this ABS system that pairs a Core i7-13700F CPU with RTX 4070 graphics. It also supplies 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a 700-watt PSU. When you consider that most RTX 4070-based gaming PCs cost more than $2,000, this discounted ABS Stratos Aqua machine is a great deal.
The RTX 3080 is a beast and will get you very close to some great 4K gaming performance, and if you use it at 1440p, then you’ll easily handle high settings and high refresh rates. It also comes with a high-end i7-12700KF, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a tidy 1TB of storage space. Also, if you haven’t noticed, the case is incredible looking, and that alone is worth a couple of hundred in the price, although you’re getting it here with a steep $780 discount.
We’ve finally reached the level where you can get great 4K performance with the RTX 4080. It is a bit pricey, but unless you want to pay nearly double the price to get an RTX 4090 for diminishing returns, this is a great option. You also get a powerful i7-13700KF, 16GB of speedy DDR5 RAM and a whopping 3TB of total storage, which means you aren’t likely to run out of space any time soon. CyberPowerPC even throws in a mouse and keyboard, although, at this level, we’d encourage you to grab a gaming mouse and keyboard.

Some desktop PCs are such a great value that they’re still worth mentioning even when they’re not on sale, and we’ve rounded up several of those models below. That includes some rigs that aren’t currently on sale, but have seen some serious discounts in the past and may go on sale again in the near future.
These Ironside gaming PCs embrace “kawaii,” which means “cute” in Japanese. Newegg sells three varieties, and each is on sale. The cheapest orange model features a Core i5-13600KF CPU and RTX 3060 graphics, the peach model supplies a Core i7-13700KF chip and RTX 4070 Ti graphics, while the most expensive blueberry model offers a Core i9-13900KF processor and RTX 4090 graphics.
This Skytech system features the latest from Intel and Nvidia by way of the Core i7-13700KF CPU and RTX 4090 GPU. You can pick it up for $3,600 at Newegg, which is a good value for a gaming PC with Nvidia’s latest flagship GPU. It also features 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a massive 1,200-watt PSU.
This Cobratype system is one of the more affordable RTX 4080-based gaming PCs out there at the moment. Part of the reason for its (relatively) low price is the odd CPU-GPU pairing. It boasts the latest from Nvidia in the form of the RTX 4080 GPU, but then turns around and gives you a CPU from Intel’s previous 11th-gen family of processors. At least it’s a powerful Core i9-11900F chip. The other items to note are the liquid cooling system and beefy 1,000-watt PSU.
How to choose a good gaming PC deal
There are thousands of gaming PC deals to choose from, but not all of them are worth your hard-earned cash. As with any pricey purchase, it’s worth assessing your needs before diving in and spending big bucks. When it comes to gaming PC deals, that means looking at how demanding the games you plan on playing are, how your new PC will fit into your existing setup (how many displays it will be driving, for example, and at what resolution and frame rate) and your budget. If you want multimonitor 4K gaming, you’re probably going to struggle with a budget of $1,000, so it’s best to be realistic with your expectations here.
Once you’ve considered those factors, it all comes down to the price-to-performance ratio on offer. The main considerations here are the processor, graphics card and RAM as these will have the most impact on your overall experience. Should I buy a prebuilt gaming PC deal or build my own?
Depending on how technically savvy you are, the proposition of building your own gaming PC will either excite you or strike fear into you. The main benefit of building a PC yourself is you get to choose every component, shop around for deals on individual parts, and ultimately get more bang for your buck. The downside is that it takes a lot of research, effort and a decent amount of technical savvy. There’s also the risk of something going wrong in the build process, which means you’ll end up damaging parts or pulling your hair out trying to figure out why things aren’t working as expected. With prebuilt gaming PC deals, you get to skip some of the more time-consuming and frustrating parts of the process, but you’ll pay for the privilege and likely spend more money overall.
