The 2012 Chicago Bulls looked poised to dethrone LeBron James and the Miami Heat as the team to beat in the Eastern Conference.
Derrick Rose was a one-man show and the most entertaining player to watch in the game.
Then, that knee injury happened, and he was never the same player again.
Even so, he’s still one of the most beloved and respected figures around the league; you just can’t hate him.
That’s why plenty of fans took to Twitter to wish him a happy birthday on Ball is Life’s post.
Chicago’s own.

Everybody has always rooted for Rose.
He’s never been a trash-talker or an arrogant guy, and watching his documentary broke thousands of people’s hearts, especially the scene when he bursts into tears after finding out the Bulls had traded him.
He’s now a part of the Memphis Grizzlies, going back to where he dominated in college.
His presence could do wonders for Ja Morant, who often reminds us of Rose.
He should be quite a positive mentor on and off the court, helping him fulfill his untapped potential.
It’ll always be sad to think how far Rose could’ve gotten if it wasn’t for injuries.
He’s the youngest MVP in league history and one of the most explosive point guards in the history of this game.
Hopefully, he’ll find himself on a championship team one day, and even if he doesn’t play a prominent role, he’ll get the ring everybody wants him to get before walking away from the game.
