Ever since the New York Jets lost All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1, many have been pointing to Minnesota Vikings signal-caller Kirk Cousins as a possible trade target for the Jets.
The Vikings are 0-3 this season, and Cousins is currently in the final year of his contract with the team, so Minnesota might be looking to get something for him in a trade this year instead of getting nothing when he becomes a free agent in 2024.
So, with New York’s need for absolutely anyone other than Zach Wilson at quarterback, many keep linking Cousins to the Jets.
However, FS1’s Nick Wright recently suggested that the Atlanta Falcons should actually be the team that attempts to acquire the Vikings quarterback in a trade instead of New York.
It’s the Falcons, not the Jets, who should be trying to trade for Kirk Cousins.

The Falcons are an interesting selection as a possible destination for Cousins before this season’s trade deadline.
Atlanta is currently 2-1 this season, and they currently have just as much of a chance to win the NFC South title this year as any other member of the division does.
The one thing that might be holding the Falcons back this season is second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder.
In three games this year, Ridder hasn’t exactly lit up the stat sheet, and if Atlanta is serious about contending for a top spot in the playoffs this season, pursuing Cousins might be something they consider doing.
Minnesota’s quarterback will have the final say in any possible deal this year, as he has a no-trade clause in his contract.
But if the Vikings continue to struggle, Cousins might be more interested in joining the Falcons this season.
