The era of superteams has become the new normal for the NBA.
Many credit the Miami Heat for creating this norm in the league when LeBron James and Chris Bosh formed a superteam with Dwyane Wade in Miami.
Over the years, many have hated James and the Heat for destroying the balance in the NBA, and Damian Lillard was among them.
In fact, an old tweet from Damian Lillard recently resurfaced on Twitter via Bleacher Report, where Lillard criticized everyone trying to make their own superteam.

The Miami Heat became the most hated team in the NBA in 2010 following James’ move to the team.
Sure, they won two NBA Championships in four seasons, but it came at the cost of becoming a villain for the rest of the NBA.
While Lillard may have hated the Heat superteam in 2011, he may end up joining the organization in a couple of weeks.
Lillard requested a trade earlier this summer from the Portland Trail Blazers after 11 seasons.
Dame made it clear that he wants to be traded to the Heat, albeit at the cost of losing his reputation as a loyal player.
The Heat already have a dynamic duo of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
Adding Lillard to the core would give birth to the league’s newest Big 3.
As of now, the trade talks are at a stalemate, but a few reports suggest that Lillard could finally get traded to the Heat in the next 48 hours.
If the trade goes down, Dame will become a part of something which he hated a long time ago.
