After an offseason in which the storied NFL franchise finally saw a change of ownership with Daniel Snyder selling to Josh Harris and his ownership group, the Washington Commanders were able to get off to a good start to the 2023 NFL season, with Sam Howell and company getting the best of the Arizona Cardinals at FedExField.
In Week 2, the Commanders will look to keep things going, as Ron Rivera’s squad will take on the Denver Broncos on the road in the Mile High City.
Although the Commanders will head into this matchup against Sean Payton’s squad as the underdog, Washington got some good news on Friday about arguably one of their best players.
According to Ben Standig of The Athletic, the Commanders will get star defensive end Chase Young back on the field to face the Broncos in Denver.

If Young is indeed healthy and back to form, his return to the field will be a huge boost for the Commanders defensively and will come at just the right time as the Broncos will look to avenge their loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1.
Much like Washington, Denver is trying to turn things around during the 2023 campaign after a forgettable performance in 2022.
As for Young, after an impressive rookie season in 2020, when he was named a Pro Bowler, the former Ohio State star has played in only 12 games over the past two seasons due to injury problems.
Young will hope to pull off a bounce-back season in 2023, as he’ll want to prove his worth in order to ink another contract and get back to being the face of the franchise.
