The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to be a serious force to be reckoned with once again in the NFC this season, with Jalen Hurts and company as stacked as any team in the league on both sides of the football.
Although the offense in Philadelphia gets a lot of credit for the team’s success, especially after Hurts’ MVP-caliber season in 2022, the defensive side of the football is also impressive, with players like Darius Slay standing out as he did in Week 1 against the New England Patriots.
Even though this game was too close for comfort for the Eagles, as they were only able to pull off the win over the Patriots on the road by five points, the Eagles defense had some plays to remember, especially when it comes to Slay, as he broke down his best play of the day, via The Volume.

If Slay can continue to play at a high level and this Eagles defense can come together over the course of the season, Philadelphia has more than a decent chance of making it back to the Super Bowl as the representative out of the NFC.
However, the Eagles can’t let inferior teams like the Patriots get within striking distance, or it could be a long season filled with disappointment and unrealized potential.
In Week 2, the defending NFC champions are facing off against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football, with Kirk Cousins and company looking to avenge their Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia trying to impose their will as one of the best all-around teams in the league.
