The Indiana Pacers may be one of the younger teams in the NBA, but they’ve got the talent to make a serious run at a playoff spot in the 2023-24 NBA season.
The Pacers have a superstar guard in Tyrese Haliburton who is the perfect player to run their offense, while they’ve got intriguing young pieces like Bennedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard, and Obi Toppin to flank him with.
However, Indiana also made sure to complement Haliburton with a veteran piece like Bruce Brown who should come in and immediately have a sizable role on the team.
Brown signed a two-year, $45 million deal to join the Pacers though the second year on the contract is a team option.
Brown is coming off a successful year where he played a pivotal part in the Denver Nuggets’ championship run.
The swingman will presumably play a similar role with Indiana this upcoming season and the team got fans hyped by sharing a video of him getting shots up in the gym via their Twitter account.

Brown isn’t known as a knock-down shooter, but the shooting stroke looks good in the clip as he doesn’t miss an attempt from the perimeter.
On Denver, teams dared him to shoot because he was usually the worst outside shooter on the floor so the Pacers will need to prepare for that.
However, Brown brings plenty of defensive toughness and intangibles that far outweigh his deficiencies and it will be interesting to see if he can help the Pacers take the next step in their development.
