Although the NFC South is projected to be one of the worst divisions in the 2023 NFL season, it does have an intriguing team to watch out for in the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints have several win-now pieces on the roster and they brought in a quarterback in Derek Carr who they believe can help them get back to the postseason.

Carr was released by the Las Vegas Raiders shortly after the 2022 campaign ended and he wound up with the Saints on a four-year deal.

Last season, New Orleans shuffled between Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton as their signal callers so Carr represents a significant upgrade at the position.

Carr may have his flaws as a quarterback, but he’s definitely competent enough to run an offense and keep it on schedule.

The veteran is one that hasn’t been fazed by much in his career and he expressed that he’s confident that his stint with the Saints will go well per John DeShazier of NewOrleansSaints.com, via JPAFootball.

“I feel very confident,” Carr said. “That is one thing about me, I will never lose confidence whether it goes really great or doesn’t go so great. I always believe in myself and believe in what I can do.”

Players at the professional level will generally have confidence in themselves and Carr is no different as he is being trusted to lead the Saints.

While he might not be the fastest person or have the strongest arm, Carr’s got great intangibles for the positon and is a proven leader who can keep a locker room together.
