The 2023 NFL Season is nearly upon us.

For fans, the beginning of the year is a joyous occasion, ending an offseason that always feels like an eternity.

With the regular season about to begin, pundits across sports media have begun their predictions for upcoming matchups, identifying key components from each contest.

In a recent segment of NBC Sports Boston, John Clark and Tom Giles broke down the contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots.

Giles discussed the Patriots’ offensive line, saying, “That’s where the game is gonna be won for the Eagles.”

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense were among the most potent in the NFL last year, averaging 28.1 points per game.

There are little questions about their abilities, and Giles didn’t express concern with that unit ahead of this Week 1 matchup.

One of the things that made the Eagles dominant in 2022 was a strong defense to go along with this top offense, as they only allowed 20.2 points per contest.

Their defensive line wreaked havoc, and while the unit might look slightly different, he thinks it will not bode well for Mac Jones and the Patriots’ offense.

Jones has made some strides in his young career, but many fans and analysts believe he needs to take a massive leap in 2023 to keep his job.

He’ll start the season with an uphill battle, given the Patriots’ Week 1 matchup with the Eagles.

If Jones rises above this dominant unit, and the Patriots’ line can hold up, public conversation around the Patriots could change.
