The New England Patriots were the team to beat in the NFL for almost two decades.
Tom Brady was either the best or second-best quarterback in the league more often than not, at least record-wise and when it came down to numbers.
One could argue that his journey to the top was like something out of a movie.
He went from being the No. 199 pick to arguably the greatest player of all time, and with some fans stating that the league is scripted, Brady’s career could definitely make up for a blockbuster hit.
Unfortunately for conspiracy theorists, the seven-time Super Bowl champion had the ultimate argument to prove the league isn’t scripted.
In a teaser ahead of the start of the season, Brady stated that he would’ve never played along with a script that had him losing to “Peyton’s [Manning] little brother Eli” twice in the Super Bowl.

Well, that puts an end to that narrative right there.
As much as some fans would rather think that the league is scripted and that the games are rigged against their favorite team, that’s never made a lot of sense.
Sometimes, movie-like stories turn out to be true; that’s just the way life goes for some people.
Brady worked his way up the Patriots’ depth chart, and while he may have never set foot on the field if it wasn’t for Drew Bledsoe’s injury, he made the most of every single opportunity he had to prove his determination to be the greatest player of all time.
