The Kansas City Chiefs have been so good over the past decade because they rarely have any drama.

Contract disputes, holdouts, and other player issues can derail a team.

But the Chiefs have not had any of those problems since Andy Reid became head coach.

But this offseason has not been like any other in KC.

Everything was supposed to be cheerful this offseason after winning the Super Bowl last year.

But the decision of defensive lineman Chris Jones has thrown a wrench in that.

Jones has held out the entire offseason and is still not expected to return for Week 1.

He is set to be fined a large sum of money but Jones doesn’t seem to care about this.

With the Chiefs kicking off their season on Monday, Reid is tired of hearing about this holdout.

According to Ian Rapoport, Reid said, “I don’t know when he’s coming or not coming.”

It appears that a deal is not close and Jones will not be out there when the season kicks off on Thursday.

Reid can not worry about the players who are not in the building.

He is just trying to focus on what his team needs to do to defeat the Lions.

It seems likely that Jones will return to the Chiefs at some point this year.

How the Chiefs do without him could determine how much the Chiefs are willing to improve their offer.
