Not too long ago, Giannis Antetokounmpo was on top of the world.
He led the Milwaukee Bucks to the NBA championship in 2021 just a year after winning his second straight regular-season MVP award, and he exploded for 50 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocks in the title-clinching win, which secured him the NBA Finals MVP award.
It looked like it would be the first of multiple titles for the Bucks, but Antetokounmpo and crew have accomplished nothing since then.
After a quote of his was included in a revealing New York Times article last week, it now looks very possible that he could leave Milwaukee not too long from now.
Some may not like Antetokounmpo threatening to leave if the Bucks aren’t championship-caliber moving forward, but former NBA player Eddie Johnson actually likes the Greek Freak’s mindset, via SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Some NBA stars seem content with putting up big numbers and making millions of dollars, but a few of them need to win championships in order to feel okay with themselves.
Antetokounmpo has been praised for being the type of superstar who would rather get in the lab and work on his craft than promote himself or team up with other superstars to make things easier on himself.
In 2020, after a crushing second-round playoff loss to the underdog Miami Heat, he could’ve left the Bucks and formed a superteam, but instead, he remained put, and he was rewarded for his loyalty.
But three seasons later, key teammates such as Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday are getting up there in age, and Antetokounmpo may have to leave in a couple of years in order to add to his legacy.
