The New England Patriots have been subject to scrutiny throughout the offseason.
After missing the playoffs in 2022, several aspects of this team have been called into question for this historically well-run organization.
The Patriots released two quarterbacks on “Cut Day,” a move that was called “mysterious” by Kyle Brandt on Good Morning Football.
“I said yesterday, I think the Broncos are the most mysterious, interesting team in the league…
It might be the Patriots.” @KyleBrandt after the Patriots waive QBs Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham pic.twitter.com/p40mq2FF7M

The Patriots also traded for two offensive linemen during this period, a shocking move for many.
With less than two weeks to go until the season starts, the Patriots are running out of time to develop team chemistry.
Having uncertainty in the offensive line and cutting two backup quarterbacks were surprising moves, a potentially catastrophic sign for this organization.
Bailey Zappe’s release wasn’t as surprising as Malik Cunningham’s, who performed well throughout the offseason.
Many around the league believed Cunningham could potentially fight for the starting role, especially if Mac Jones has any struggles.
Now that the team has released him, they are putting their trust in Jones, the only quarterback on the roster.
The Patriots will need to have a backup on their team, just in case something happens to Jones.
For now, however, they seem confident in Jones moving forward.
The Patriots are under a lot of pressure heading into the 2023 season as time is quickly running out.
If they don’t make the playoffs, many believe Belichick’s job is on the line, and the team could be in for a massive overhaul.
Can Jones put all the pieces together, resulting in a greatly improved season for the Patriots?
