Not many people are expecting much from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.
Tom Brady has retired (again), this time permanently, and the team is somewhat of a skeleton of the one that took home the Super Bowl championship just two calendar years ago.
Baker Mayfield is their new starter under center, and while his talent is undeniable, harnessing that talent has been like trying to hold water in one’s hands.
Former NFL player Emmanuel Acho went out on a limb during an episode of FS1’s “Speak” and said that Mayfield will lead the Buccaneers to the best record in the NFC South this year.

Many feel the New Orleans Saints, with new quarterback Derek Carr and a healthy Michael Thomas, are the best team in the division.
But if Mayfield finally puts it all together, perhaps Tampa Bay will have a shot at the division title.
The team has lost several key contributors on the defensive side of the football since winning it all, and Leonard Fournette, their starting running back the last three years, has also moved on.
But the Bucs still have a solid wide receiver duo in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, and they could help Mayfield be productive.
Mayfield flashed his potential in his first four years with the Cleveland Browns, and he set a league record for most touchdown passes by a rookie before leading the Browns to their first playoff victory since the mid-1990s during the 2020 campaign.
This could be his last chance to be a full-fledged starting quarterback in the NFL.
