Setting My End Of Summer Intentions

Setting My End Of Summer Intentions

Disclosure: Thank you to Vuori and Collective Voice for sponsoring today’s post.

Well, that didn’t go as planned. Understatement of the year. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t envision a summer of me getting shredded, eating nourishing meals, and moving my body outside almost every day. Somehow we’re sitting at the middle of August and I’m just now realizing that all of my “plans” went in the complete opposite direction.

Nourishing food? Try hot dogs, potato salad, and ice cream sandwiches. Moving my body outside? Well, thanks to pickleball I have achieved that slightly, so I must give credit where credit is due, but planned intentional workouts – not so much. Lifting weights? I have yet to lift a weight. Thank goodness for restarts. Also, thank you for new Vuori collections that happen to coincide with a fresh restart perfectly.

Introducing the brand new Vuori BlissBlend collection. I’m telling you, it is BLISS. The fabric has that sweeter than sweet, softer than soft, barely there feeling [you know the kind, where you question if you actually remembered to put your leggings on or if you accidentally are galivanting around your neighborhood block nakie]. This collection is made to move with you and has zero pinch points or movement restriction [I tested this with an hour and a half of pickleball the other night and I can confirm, no restriction was felt, I was loose as a goose to run all over that court resulting in 1 win out of 121812 matches]. Needless to say, this collection has been a hit and styles are selling out very [very] quickly! These leggings are an absolute must [available in short, regular, and tall length]! I’d keep going on about the fabric but you need to feel them for yourself to believe it!

So what are those intentions I’m starting [better late than never, right?] For starters, I got myself an accountability group. It’s amazing how much further you can go together than alone. I am currently participating in a point-based challenge [we made it up that involves a mix of nutrition goals, movement goals, water goals, mindfulness goals, etc] with 10 other girls and we have a text string going daily to cheer each other on, check in, and have weekly competitions with. It’s amazing how much more dedicated I am when I have others along for the ride!

Additional end of summer intentions [in no particular order]:

  • Creating space in my calendar to simply do nothing. This summer we jam-packed it full of time with friends and family which has been so.much.fun but I also crave days on the pier with a book in hand, time to simply float on the boat with Shawn and the pups, and have zero place we need to be.
  • Speaking from the above – read another book or three. I’ve recently read two books and it reminded me just how much I enjoy losing myself in a novel. It is one of the most relaxing ways to unwind and I want to continue to do it.
  • Enjoy this pre-kid life to the fullest while we have it. I have no idea what the future holds for when children may be in the picture [Lord willing] and I don’t want to waste this gift of time while we have it!

Thanks Vuori for always reminding me that tomorrow is a new day and the reset button is always around the corner 😉
