The Baltimore Ravens have knocked on the door of Super Bowl contention for quite a while, but injuries, tough luck, and some postseason meltdowns have stood in their way.

The fans and the organization hope that won’t be the case anymore, as they’ve built a whole new offense that seems perfectly suited for Lamar Jackson’s game.

That’s why “First Take” analyst Bart Scott believes Jackson will run away with MVP honors this season, adding that he’s going to do just what Jalen Hurts did last season, but he’ll be much better in the open field.

Jackson is obviously a better quarterback than Hurts at this point in his development, so that prediction may not be far-fetched at all.

Greg Roman’s offense was outdated, and it often handcuffed Jackson into a collapsed field with predictable play-calling and a run-heavy approach.

Todd Monken, on the other hand, is going to spread out the field and let Jackson make his own decisions, and he’ll have some elite weapons in the passing game for the first time in his career.

We expect big things out of Mark Andrews, Odell Beckham Jr., Rashod Bateman, and obviously Zay Flowers, and defenses should have a very tough time figuring out how to contain a legit dual-threat quarterback like Jackson.

Injuries seem to be the only thing standing in this team’s way going forward.

Otherwise, don’t be shocked if Jackson takes home the second MVP award of his career, although it will mean little unless he caps it off with a Super Bowl win.
