The New Orleans Saints will look much different in the 2023 season.

That is due to a new quarterback set to be under center.

New Orleans signed Derek Carr earlier in the offseason and he will be their new franchise signal caller.

The Saints have been unstable at quarterback since Drew Brees retired

But Carr should help bring the Saints back to relevancy.

He began his Saints career in Week 1 of the preseason with a stellar outing.

According to NFL, Carr went 6/8 for 70 yards and one touchdown.

His first touchdown pass as a Saint went to wide receiver Keith Kirkwood in the back of the endzone.

This was the perfect start for both Carr and Saints fans.

The Saints are the favorite to win the NFC South and Carr is a big reason for that.

He is the most experienced starting quarterback in the division and has been the most successful.

Carr has been a solid regular-season quarterback in his career but has had no postseason success.

He has played in one playoff game in nine seasons and it was a loss.

The Saints have a strong roster around Carr that include some good receivers to throw to.

Both Michael Thomas and Chris Olave are good enough for Carr to have a career year.

Even with Alvin Kamara suspended for three games, the Saints added Jamaal Williams as insurance.

This team is plenty good to win the South and make some noise in the playoffs.

But all of the pressure will be on Carr.
