Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers wants to win and he has made no secret of that.

In fact, a recent statement he said about winning a championship with the Sixers or possibly another team shows just how determined he is to claim victory at the Finals.

It’s obvious that the front office needs to keep doing work to help the team win even more.

But what is Embiid doing to ensure success too?

According to Ramona Shelburne, via NBACentral, Embiid plans to come into next season “in the best shape of his life.”

That will certainly help.

The idea of Embiid being in even better shape has Sixers fans eager for the new season to start.

The six-time All-Star just finished perhaps his best year yet.

He averaged 33.1 points and 10.2 rebounds with a 54.8% field goal percentage.

After years of playing hard, Embiid finally earned his first MVP trophy.

Some people thought he had reached his ceiling but if he’s in even stronger shape next season, how much better can he be?

His physicality and health are very important because they were an issue during the latest playoffs.

Embiid missed a couple of games when his team needed him most.

When he returned, it took him some time to find his footing again.

Ultimately, his team lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round after seven games.

Some people think that wouldn’t have been the case had he been fully healthy at the start of the series.

Embiid has won MVP and that’s obviously a lifelong dream of his.

But he has another, bigger dream he wants to accomplish: winning a Finals.

Being in his best shape yet could make that happen.
