The New Orleans Saints have struggled ever since the retirement of legendary quarterback Drew Brees, but it looks like things are about to change, as veteran Derek Carr will be starting under center this season.

One reason the Saints have struggled is the injury woes of wide receiver Michael Thomas, who has played in a total of just 10 games over the last three seasons.

But Thomas is healthy and in training camp, and he says that he recruited Carr by telling him he could achieve greatness in New Orleans, via NFL Network.

New Orleans may not be Super Bowl contenders, but they do have a fairly talented cast, especially on the offensive side of the football.

Carr is a four-time Pro Bowler, and although he had a dismal 2022 season, he threw for 4,804 passing yards the season prior.

Thomas, meanwhile, was one of the NFL’s more prolific wideouts until injuries started to put him on the shelf.

In 2019, he led everyone with 1,725 receiving yards while adding nine touchdowns, and he went over the 1,100-yard mark in each of his first four seasons.

He will team up with Chris Olave, who had 1,042 yards last year as a rookie, to give the Saints a strong receiving duo.

One question hanging over the team is whether running back Alvin Kamara will be suspended after he was charged with battery several months ago.

If he is, the Saints will turn to Jamaal Williams, who had 1,066 rushing yards and an NFL-high 17 rushing touchdowns last season, to carry the load in the backfield.
