For the first time in what seems like forever, the New York Jets have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations thanks to the arrival of future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
He is joining a squad that has plenty of talented players on both sides of the football, including wide receiver Garrett Wilson, cornerback Sauce Gardner, and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
However, no one is rushing to make plans to see the Jets play for the world championship in February.
Commentator Nick Wright is one of those who feels the team won’t end up hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
“I do not believe in the Jets this year. i don’t think Aaron Rodgers is still a QB. … At 40 years old he’s going to have real struggles. But he’s handled this offseason almost perfectly.”

Wright did give Rodgers credit, who has been criticized for self-centered behavior over the last couple of years, for bonding with his new teammates and taking a big pay cut.
But as Wright pointed out, Rodgers will turn 40 years of age in December, and he doesn’t feel the former Green Bay Packers QB is still a great player.
Rodgers saw his production dip last year, and his 91.1 passer rating was his lowest since he became a full-time starter back in 2008.
It was an alarming decline, as he had won the regular season MVP award in both of the previous two seasons.
Rodgers will be under lots of scrutiny once again, and he may end up facing more scrutiny than ever before given that he’s now playing in the nation’s largest media market.
The Jets haven’t won or even made it to the Super Bowl since the 1968 season when Joe Namath was the leading man for them.
