If you were to ask ten people who is the greatest shooter in NBA history, chances are nine out of those ten will tell you Stephen Curry, and they’d be right.

But there were many great shooters before the Golden State Warriors superstar, even in times when the three-point shot wasn’t as common or mandatory as it is nowadays.

Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Drazen Petrovic, Peja Stojakovic, and Chris Mullin are just some of the few legendary sharpshooters that walked the NBA long before Steph.

However, when asked about the greatest shooter of all time — besides him — the four-time NBA champion chose another one. Ray Allen.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Steph talked about Allen’s shooting form and all the work he put into his craft to become a legendary shooter.

Truth be told, Curry talked about an often-overlooked aspect of Allen’s greatness as a shooter.

Younger fans may not know or remember that  Allen wasn’t always a spot-up guy waiting on the corner to pull up from three.

He was actually a primary scorer, ball-handler, and a freakish athlete.

Allen worked tirelessly on his craft to become an elite shooter once the speed and hops faded away, and he was able to prolong his career when he embraced that role.

Curry is a tireless worker as well, so he had no choice but to tip his hat to the guy that owned most of the three-point shooting-related records before he burst onto the scene.
