The Toronto Blue Jays posted their lineup for the first game of their all-important series with the visiting Baltimore Orioles, and George Springer is not in it.
The 33-year-old’s usual spot in right field will be filled by utility man Cavan Biggio instead.

Springer is mired in a seven-game slump that has seen him go 0-for-30. He is a career .267 hitter currently sporting a .249 average. He was recently moved from the leadoff spot in favour of the red-hot Whit Merrifield.
Springer’s last hit came on July 22 in a 9-8 loss to the Mariners, when he went 1-for-5.
Biggio, who unlike Springer bats left, is a career .226 hitter and hitting .216 with seven homers this season. He has split his time between right field and second base this season, seeing action at first as well.
